Another day another stabbing.

I open up the newspaper and what do I read, surprise surprise, another teenager stabbed to death and 2 kids charged with manslaughter for a prior fatal stabbing. A government spokesman states that knife crime hasnt increased but media reporting of it has gotten better. Is that comment intended to make us feel safer on the roads? It is like saying, yeah you probably will get stabbed but the whole world will know about it after you are dead. Nice!

It has to be said though that quite a few of the teenagers getting stabbed seem to be in a gang of some sort or are petty drug dealers, but the rest are just innocent victims of the spiralling madness brought about by these gangs. One thing that always intrigues me is that the victims who were members of violent gangs are portrayed as saints when they are dead. Their school head teacher comes out with words like " was a very harworking and popular kid" which loosely translates in to " sold more drugs than the other peddlers and all the kids went to him for their weekly dose of crack heroin". Nice!

I believe parents and teachers should be allowed to smack some sense in to these vagabonds. That is how it was during my time in school, I have been on the receiving end of far too many Smack Downs but it has made me a better person in the long run. That is what the kids of this generation need. Giving kids too much freedom has resulted in lawlessness, and it is obvious that change is necessary.
